Media coursework Rough cut

This evaluation refers to question 3

This is my original draft of my trailer. After I had got the sound track sorted I felt that my scenes and edits had began to come together well. However, I still needed to change some things such as the edits of the music to be smoother and to change the order of some of the clips so as to make the story clearer. I showed the class the trailer and got this feedback:
  •  Good use of fades inbetween clips
  • Well edited to make parrallel narratives clear
  • Good choice of music to match scenes
I also was suggested these changes
  •  Make the music quieter when charachters were speaking
  • Continue to use fades throughout the trailer
  • Use title cards more effectively
  • Cut the length of some of the shots
I also knew that I needed an ending title card, and had to add more title cards throughout the trailer to make the story clearer. From watching other soap trailers, I realised my editing had to be sharper to match the non deigetic music.

Question 1 Evaluation reference

From watching a Made in Chelsea trailer I saw that repetition was an interesting feature of title cards. I decided to use this in my trailer by using all words that began with the letter 'D' to match conventions. I also needed to add an effect to the way the words appeared onto the page.
