Made in Chelsea

This evaluation refers to question 1 and 4

As I had decided to promote my trailer at a target audience of 16-24 year olds I researched into trailer with a similar target audience. By using youtube I searched into some of these trailers. The best example I found was this made in chelsea trailer. It follows the lives of people who all know each other and live in the same area, with interweaving storylines. This was the type of trailer I wanted to make so this was a good one to research

The trailer is made up of lots of different clips edited together. It is edited at a fast pace, which is how I wanted my trailer to be. It also has a backing track of non diegetic sounds played behind the diegetic dialogue. It also makes use of title cards with a clear branding, in order to tell the story and make the branding clear to the audience.

Also many of the clips are just charachters expressions or one liners, and use of over the shoulder shot types and establishing shots. My soap would be shot like this, with variations on edits and features. Also the Made in Chelsea trailer is more upbeat than the storyline ideas my group had, however some of the characters were relatable to the ones in Made in Chelsea. It was a good trailer overall to use as a style model, and helped to highlight soap conventions.
